Yes. We use @imgly/background-removal, a WebAssembly AI model that runs 100% in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How fast is it?
We start downloading the AI model the moment the page loads, so it is usually ready by the time you pick an image. On supported devices it runs on your GPU. After the first use the model is cached, so every removal after that is near-instant.
What types of images work best?
Photos with a clear, distinct subject against a relatively contrasting background. People, products, and animals work great.
What format is the output?
